Jongmin Kim

Korea’s history has passed through the modern and contemporary era marked by
colonization, war, division, and rapid modernization. In seeking to understand this hastily
accelerated time, Jongmin Kim began his work from the roots of Korean identity, aiming to
revive what had been interrupted and to connect images of long-standing tradition with the
present era.Artist Jongmin Kim creates folding screens and objects by blending images of
nature and tradition long cherished by Koreans with contemporary visual language. Through
the overlap between the digital and the physical, he continues to explore the spirit of an era
in which land and image are newly defined, while leading the Superposition team and
continuing his artistic practice.
